ECCP Luncheon Meeting with BOC Asst. Commissioner Maronilla
The Philippines continues to navigate an evolving trade and logistics environment shaped by global market dynamics, regulatory reforms, and the country's pursuit of a more competitive and efficient business climate. Strengthening customs processes and regulatory frameworks has become increasingly vital to facilitate trade, attract investment, and enhance overall ease of doing business.
In recent years, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) has advanced a number of reforms aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and fostering stronger public-private partnerships. These include the draft Customs Administrative Order (CAO) on destination charges, the implementation of Joint Administrative Order (JAO) 001-2025, and Administrative Orders No. 23 and 20, among others—all of which reflect the government's commitment to transparency, accountability, and trade facilitation.
This luncheon will provide a timely platform for the European-Philippine business community and industry stakeholders to engage directly with Assistant Commissioner Vincent Philip C. Maronilla, spokesperson of the BOC and head of the Post Clearance Audit Group (PCAG). Discussions will focus on the Bureau's priorities and plans, with key insights on trade facilitation, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the role of public-private partnerships in advancing national competitiveness.
Through this exchange, senior executives, industry leaders, and ECCP members will have the opportunity not only to gain firsthand updates on BOC's initiatives, but also to directly raise concerns, explore collaboration opportunities, and contribute to shaping a more resilient, inclusive, and efficient trade and investment environment in the Philippines.
